A Letter to Family Members
I hope this finds you healthy and well. Please let me introduce myself. My name is Renee Gwin and I am the owner of a home-based pediatric therapy practice called Nurture Support, LLC. We provide therapy services for children birth to 18 years who are struggling with feeding and swallowing issues, speech and language disabilities, occupational therapy needs, and physical/gross motor skills. We also provide early intervention services by partnering with Achieva.
Nurture Support, LLC is different than other outpatient therapy providers because we travel to our client’s home and provide tele-health services regardless of the child’s age. The benefits of having outpatient therapy provided in the child’s home is that children feel comfortable in their familiar environment, less time/adjustment for carryover of new skills-the skill is learned in their home, and there is less travel time for the caregiver. Outpatient therapy provided in home is especially important for the families we serve during this COVID-19 time.
I created Nurture Support, LLC eleven years ago when I saw a need. Children would develop a skill in the clinical therapy room but children were not able to carry the skill they learned in the clinic into their home. Parents would say “I wish you could come to my house and help my child learn these skills there.” Having therapy in their home allows our therapists to see specific needs and help teach functional skills specific to their daily environment/habits.
We want to help children with all needs but one of our specialties is with feeding and swallowing therapy. We have extensive training to evaluate and provide treatment to children struggling with feeding and swallowing needs. We are trained to address premature feeding needs, identify oral motor weakness and impairment, oral sensory needs, aspiration precautions, food expansion, and can help families identify medical professionals needed to make feeding and swallowing gains.
Nurture Support, LLC currently has eight experienced therapists. We participate with insurances and accept private pay. Please share Nurture Support, LLC with your family and friends. I would appreciate the opportunity to talk or meet with you to further discuss how Nurture Support, LLC can assist you and your family.
Thank you for your time.
